Everything you need to get the most out of myDiviMax.

Getting Started with myDiviMax

New here? Follow these steps to set up your first dividend portfolio.

What is myDiviMax?

myDiviMax is a dividend income estimation tool that helps you plan and visualize the potential dividend income from a portfolio of stocks. You can model existing portfolios, experiment with future ones, and compare different investment scenarios — all in one place.

Your portfolio data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted file. Nothing about your holdings is ever sent to our servers.

Want to Try It First?

Not ready to register yet? myDiviMax offers a Test Mode that lets you explore the full app without a license key or password.

On the app's login screen you will see:

  • Each test session lasts up to 10 minutes with full access to all features.
  • You have 3 test sessions available. After those are used, you will need to register to continue using the app.
  • Test mode does not allow saving — your data will not be kept between sessions.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. 1Create a free account at mydivimax.com/register.html. You will receive a verification email — click the link to activate your account.
  2. 2After verification, check your email for your License Key. This key is required when you first log in to the app. You can also find it anytime in My Account.
  3. 3Open the myDiviMax app. On the first launch, click the button labeled Select Your Local Folder and Profile, choose a folder on your device to store your profile, and click Allow on the browser's permission prompt.
  4. 4Click Yes, I have a License Key. Enter your License Key, your registration email address, a name for your profile (e.g. "My Portfolio"), and your registration password. Then click Validate & Create Profile. This creates your local profile file and logs you in for the first time.
  5. 5On all future logins, simply select your profile folder. The app will find your profile file(s) and ask for your password — your license key is not needed again.
  6. 6Create your first Set — think of it as a portfolio bucket (e.g., "Retirement Account" or "Taxable Account").
  7. 7Add a Version to your Set — versions let you model different scenarios within the same portfolio.
  8. 8Start adding stock symbols to your version. The app will fetch dividend data and populate the income estimates automatically.

Sets & Versions

Organize your portfolios with the Set Management panel.

What is a Set?

A Set represents a portfolio bucket or account — for example, your brokerage account, IRA, or a hypothetical future portfolio. Sets are listed on the left side of the Set Management panel.

You can create as many Sets as your account tier allows, making it easy to track dividend income across multiple accounts side by side.

What is a Version?

Each Set can have multiple Versions, displayed on the right side of the Set Management panel. Versions let you model different scenarios within the same portfolio — for example, a "Current Holdings" version and a "Target Allocation" version for the same account.

This makes it easy to compare your current dividend income against a planned future state without losing your existing data.

Managing Sets and Versions

For each Set and Version entry you can:

  • Load — load the selected Set (and its first Version) or selected Version into the stock table.
  • Rename — change the display name of the selected Set or Version at any time.
  • Copy — duplicate the selected Set or Version to use as a starting point for a new scenario.
  • Share As — export the selected Set or Version to a CSV or PDF file for sharing or archiving.
  • Clear — remove all stock symbols and data from the current Set or Version while keeping the Set/Version itself.
  • Delete — permanently remove the selected Set or Version and all its stock data.
Note: Deleting a Set will permanently delete all Versions and stock data within it. This action cannot be undone.

Adding Stocks

Use the Income Paying Investment panel to build your stock list.

About the Data

myDiviMax uses historical data for the last 24 months for each stock. All calculations and displayed values are based on the Trailing-12 Months (TTM) period — meaning the most recent 12 months of dividend payment history available.

Searching for a Stock

  1. 1In the Income Paying Investment panel, type a stock ticker symbol or company name in the search field.
  2. 2The app will present a list of matching results. Select the one you want from the list.
  3. 3Enter the number of shares you hold (or plan to hold) in the Qty field.
  4. 4Click Add to List. The app will fetch current dividend data and populate the remaining fields automatically.

Understanding the Data Fields

Once a stock is added, the app populates several data fields automatically using live market data:

  • Market Value — the current estimated value of your position based on share price × quantity.
  • Income TTM — the estimated dividend income from this holding over the trailing 12 months, based on the TTM dividend rate × quantity.
  • Dividend Yield — the TTM (trailing-12 months) dividend as a percentage of the current share price.
  • Pay Frequency — how often the dividend is paid (monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.).

Editing and Removing Stocks

Each stock in your list has the following options:

  • Symbol link — click the stock's ticker symbol to open a popup with detailed dividend history and additional data for that stock.
  • Change — update the quantity or other editable fields.
  • Delete — remove the stock from the current version.
Tip: Keep an eye on the cumulative Market Value and Income TTM totals at the bottom of the list as you add stocks — they update in real time and help you gauge progress toward your income goal.

Estimated Dividend Income Panel

A visual summary of your portfolio's dividend income potential.

What It Shows

The Estimated Dividend Income panel provides a visual representation of the dividend income potential of your current stock selection. It aggregates data from all stocks in the active version and presents it in a clear, at-a-glance format. All values are based on the Trailing-12 Months (TTM) data.

This panel is updated automatically as you add, remove, or modify stocks in your list.

How to Use It

Use the income panel as your planning target. As you build out a version with different stocks and quantities, watch the projected annual income figure update to see how close you could be to your dividend income goal.

Combined with the Versions feature, you can experiment with different portfolio compositions — different stocks, weightings, or position sizes — and compare their projected income side by side.

Important: All figures in the income panel are estimates based on historical trailing-12 months dividend data. Dividends are not guaranteed. Past payments do not ensure future distributions.

License Key

What it is, where to find it, and when you need it.

What Is the License Key?

Your License Key is a unique code in the format DM-100-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX that is generated when you create your account. It ties your account to the app and is required the first time you log in to the myDiviMax application to create your local profile file.

Where to Find Your Key

Your license key is delivered in two ways:

  • By email — sent automatically when you verify your account. Check the email with the subject "Your myDiviMax license key".
  • My Account page — sign in to the website, go to My Account, and select License Key from the left menu. Click Reveal to show it and Copy to copy it to your clipboard.

When Do I Need It?

You need your license key only once — when you first log in to the myDiviMax app and create your profile file. After that, the app only requires your email and password for subsequent logins.

If you set up the app on a new device or need to recreate your profile file, you will need the key again at that point.

Tip: Keep your license key in a safe place along with your email and password — for example, in a password manager.

Lost Your License Key Email?

Don't worry — your key is always available in My Account as long as you can sign in to the website. If you cannot sign in either, contact us and we will verify your identity and retrieve it for you.

Yes. Your portfolio data — stocks, quantities, and projections — is stored locally on your device in an AES-256-GCM encrypted file. It is never transmitted to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Dividend and stock price data is retrieved from third-party financial services using publicly available market information. Data is fetched in real time when you add or refresh a stock.
Not all stocks pay dividends. If a stock has no dividend history or does not currently pay a dividend, the income fields will show zero or be blank. myDiviMax works best with dividend-paying stocks, REITs, ETFs, and other income-generating securities.
Estimates are based on the most recent trailing-12 months (TTM) available dividend info from our data providers. They reflect past payment patterns and are not a guarantee of future dividends. Companies may change, reduce, or eliminate dividends at any time.
First, check your spam or junk folder. If you still don't see it after a few minutes, the email may have been delayed. Verification links expire after 24 hours — if yours expired, simply register again with the same email address. If you continue to have trouble, contact us.
Yes — your account works on any device with a browser. Because your portfolio data is stored locally, each device will have its own local data file. You can set up a new profile on a new device using your email, password, and license key at any time. Note that the free account has a limit of 3 named profile files; however, you are allowed to move an existing profile file from one device to another without it counting as a new profile.
At this time, account deletion is handled by our support team. Please contact us with your request and we will delete your account and all associated data promptly.
